There are 7 major train types included G Train, C Train, Z Train, T Train, K Train and Ordinary Train.

D – Electric Multiple Units (EMU) Train: D means “China Railway High-speed (CRH)" in English or you can call as China Bullet Train. This is the most advanced train in China. Chinese so-called "D Train" is similar to "Multiple Unit"(MU) in English, which is a type of railway vehicle groups. It can reach 200-300km/h.

G – High-Speed Electric Multiple Units (EMU) Train: This is the fastest EMU train running for long distance in China. The top speed of which could reach 350km/h.

First class seat and Second class seat can be provided by G Train and D Train.

C– Intercity EMU Train: This is also the fastest EMU train in China, but runs for short travel distance between two nearby cities, such as the 120-kilomter's Beijing-Tianjin Intercity Railway.

Z – Direct Express Train: The top speed of Z-trains is 160km/h, which is the most efficient transport for long-distance travel except of the EMU trains. Generally, Z-trains have none-stop on the way, but some of them have several stops. The coaches are modern and air-conditioned. They are usually overnight trains, so there are usually only sleepers (hard/soft) available, while some only have soft-sleepers available.T – Express Train: The T-trains have limited stops on the routes, mainly in these major cities. The highest speed is 140km/h. Both seats (hard/soft) and sleepers (hard/soft) are available.

K train – Fast Trains: K trains run at 120 km/hr or 74.6 miles/hr, and stop at more stations than the T trains. Besides stopping at cities, they will also stop at main counties along the way. Both seats (hard/soft) and sleepers (hard/soft) are available.

Ordinary Train: It is named by 4 numbers, such as train 1461(Beijing-Shanghai) and train 1363(Beijing- Chengdu ). It always stops at every little town on the way, therefore it is the slowest train and the ticket is the cheapest in China. It always delays. Most of them aren’t equipped with air condition.
